In the year 2052 mankind has become reliant upon Hapuna, a wonder painkiller developed by famous scientist Dr. Skinner. Three years ago however Skinner disappeared, and as our story opens he returns with a dire warning: In the next 30 days everyone who has taken a dose of Hapuna will die.
Wealthy heiress Reiko Hosho secretly moonlights as a police detective (under the supervision of a totally different conglomerate heir who is also a cop), putting on a cool face whilst freaking out internally. Thankfully, her brand new butler and chauffeur is here to do the actual investigative work on the sly.
A retelling of L. M. Montgomery’s 1908 Canadian children’s novel, Anne of Green Gables, the series follows Anne, an 11-year-old orphan sent to live with the elderly Cuthbert siblings on Prince Edward Island. While initially expecting a boy rather than a girl, the Cuthberts take Anne in, where she comes of age in the fictional town of Avonlea.
On her 17th birthday, Meg Raspberry is told that she only has a year left to live. The only way to prevent this is to collect 1000 tears of joy; crystallised emotions produced when people are at their most elated around her.
A collection of some of the most foul criminals known to mankind are imprisoned in an alternate dimension where they develop strange eldritch powers.
