With the help of the entire school, Aqours get ready to give the performance of a lifetime at the Love Live regionals.
Even though Aqours have made it past the Love Live preliminaries, Uranohoshi’s not out of the woods just yet. When You points out µ’s had already managed to save their school at this point in their career, Chika starts pondering why µ’s managed to succeed where they failed.
With Riko off competing in the piano contest, the other Aqours girls nominate You to take her place at the prefectural Love Live preliminaries. Unfortunately, rehearsing the new choreography doesn’t go as smoothly as things usually go for her, causing You to worry if her closest friend just sees her Riko’s sloppy replacement.
Dia wants to spend summer vacation training on the beach like µ’s did, but Chika and You have to help out at Chika’s family’s beach cafe. Meanwhile, Riko has to deal with conflicting schedules when she receives an offer to take part in a piano competition.
Tensions between Kanan and Mari reach a boiling point, prompting Chika to step in and demand the former friends finally reveal what caused the rift between them.
After their debut performance is met with a less than lukewarm response, Chika and co. get sent back home with their tails between their legs. How could the power of doing one’s best possibly have failed?
After their music video has gone viral, Aqours are invited to Tokyo, where they will be performing alongside other debuting school idol groups in preparation for the grand Love Live competition. Given that every single member has the attention span of a 3-year-old, however, things soon go haywire.
… Because I decided to do something fun and productive with my time (i.e. going on vacation) in stead of wasting it on this lousy piece of work. But don’t worry! In celebration of Sunshine! recycling the exact same plot as its illustrious predecessor, you can always recycle some of my earlier posts and pretend it’s this week’s one. See you next week!
In order to get increase Aqours’ popularity, Chika decides to adopt Yoshiko’s “fallen angel” gimmick, yet Yoshiko herself wants nothing more than to grow out of her geeky delusions and live the life of an average high school student. Furthermore, Aqours’ other members aren’t exactly keen on welcoming ‘Yohane’ to the party.
After being officially acknowledged as a club, Chika, You and Riko set their targets on their underclassmen. Ruby, however, is afraid her sister will not allow her to become a school idol, while Hanamaru is convinced a country bumpkin like her could never be one.
The chairwoman of Uranoboshi High School makes herself known and promises Chika, You and Riko the school will acknowledge their idol group if they manage to fill up the entire auditorium for a performance. Though initially euphoric, the girls soon realize that getting the entire school to attend will not be enough.
Despite having met over half a dozen potential new members in the span of a single episode, Chika still hasn’t come any closer to realizing her dream of starting her own school idol group. When Riko refuses her offer for the umpteenth time, Chika and You set out to help fix whatever it is preventing the transfer student from joining their club. By any means necessary.
