The Roundup: Fall 2015 Volume 10
Tis the season for zombies, vampires, blood, and vomiting or at least that’s what this week’s Roundup episodes would have you believe.
Tis the season for zombies, vampires, blood, and vomiting or at least that’s what this week’s Roundup episodes would have you believe.
We sink our teeth into a whole lot of vampire action this week with Dance With Devils and Owarimonogatari exploring their respective backstories. That’s not necessarily a good thing. At least we always have Osomatsu-san and Miss Monochrome around to keep us amused.
On a very special episode of Mr. Osomatsu: Jyushimatsu learns the joy – and pain – of falling in love. It’s also one of the best episodes of the year. This is not a joke, I am totally serious.
Osomatsu tries to handle a murder mystery and it goes about as well as you’d expect, Dance With Devils takes itself slightly less serious for like 30 seconds, Miss Monochrome discovers the bonding power of Swan paddle boats, and after 8 episodes of behaving Owarimonogatari has to let out its pervy side a bit.
Pretty average week of mid-season episodes save for Dance With Devils pulling out its most amazingly ridiculous song yet. Can I write about it without referencing Ghost Trick or Tokyo Jungle? I guess not.
A bit of a down week as Osomatsu starts to show its age, Miss Monochrome can’t decide what to do with this week’s episode, and Monogatari wraps up one of its worst arcs. But hey, Dance with Devils will never disappoint us, right?
Dance With Devils teaches us that Chinese gangster souls taste better than roast duck, Miss Monochrome learns that strange men that pop out of giant tuna make great friends, and Osomatsu reminds you that everyone hates you because you hate yourself. Good times!
In this week’s installment… Osomatusu gets a little TOO REAL, Dance with Devils triggers the incest route, Miss Monochrome teaches us that Santa lives in Finland, and Owarimonogatari is boring. Oh and hey, Concrete Revolutio joins The Roundup! The Roundup is a weekly guide to all the “other” shows we’re watching this season. Check out our…
I’m selling out for search engine hits and highlighting the fact that Owarimongatari parodies JAMES BOND RETURNS IN SPECTRE RELEASE DATE, Osomatsu-san does STREET FIGHTER V PC BETA DELAYED, and Miss Monochrome goes STAR WARS EPISODE VII NEW TRAILER SPOILERS. How’s that for ethics in anime journalism?
The Roundup returns with a new lightweight edition as we’re just about back at full staff and picking up full size posts again. Join the fun as we take on Dance With Devils, Beautiful Bones, the returning Miss Mister Monochrome, Owarimonogatari, and starting next week Osomatsu-san.
Say goodbye to all the high school related titles as School Live, Prison School, and Classroom Crisis come to a conclusion, as well as a “see you later” to Miss Monochrome as we’ll see her next season.
Polar opposite reactions this week as we rave about School Live’s stellar penultimate episode and I finally let out my bottled up rage I’ve been carrying from 12 episodes of Classroom Crisis. Sadly, it’s not even the last episode.
I must be in a bad mood today because nearly every Early Edition show delivers this week and yet I still find reasons to complain. School Live pays the price for all the fun it had last week, Ushio and Tora asks us to peep game, Miss Monochrome goes virus hunting, Prison School adapts the funniest chapter of the manga, and Classroom Crisis actually has people making out. Should be good times, right?
Artemis returns (woo) just in time to join me and Marlin in trashing School Live’s pool episode. I’m sure that will just be a one time thing, but my growing hatred for Classroom Crisis is a real, weekly event. At least I have a new crazy Miss Monochrome theory to work on?
The Early Edition gears up for the final stretch of the season with School Live and Prison School delivering late season twists. Miss Monochrome remains great but sadly, Classroom Crisis is bad again.
A bit of a slow week for School Live and Classroom Crisis, but Ushio and Tora has a fight on an airplane and Miss Monochrome has a bizarre, vaguely inappropriate relationship with an anthropomorphized battery. ANIME!
A strong week for the Early Edition as School Live reveals the fate of our favorite teacher, Miss Monochrome exposes the seedy underbelly of the idol industry, and Classroom Crisis continues its slow crawl to respectability. Also, Prison School has boner jokes? OK, I went one bullet point too far.
The smell of animated beef patties, the hum of cicadas and the breeze from the giant monster battle occurring off-screen. That’s right, it’s the half time show! The Glorio Rabble have put their heads together to let you know what’s worth your valuable time, in a world where first episodes are high budget and mid-season turns filler if left out in…
Can you believe the season is already half over? Fortunately our Roundup shows are still going strong with School Live! leading the pack in the Early edition. Even Classroom Crisis is starting to win me over somehow, with a solid enough mid point episode to keep it off the chopping block.
It’s summer fun time in the Early Edition of the Roundup! Classroom Crisis is already resorting to the beach episode (pun intended) and School Live! spends a fun afternoon at the mall. No violence!
