2021 was an unbelievably strong year with some legitimate generational contenders. I look back on the year and for as much shit as I love to give anime (and rightfully so sometimes), this year also saw a ton of creativity and artistic vision at work. Join me as I go through the highs (and lows) of the anime I watched in 2021.

After a great Spring season and not so great Summer season, it seems balance has been restored to the anime world. The crew gives their first impressions of the good and bad (but mostly good?) new shows of the Fall 2021 season.
Mankind lives in disparate colonies deep underground. Outside the colonies, a dangerous uncharted land known as The Labyrinth is constantly being explored and colonized by mankind’s mech mounted exploration team, the Markers. Memempu is a child prodigy who dreams of one day becoming a Marker. Her father Gagumber is strictly opposed to this on account of her young age and the dangers of the occupation. After a giant creature destroys their hometown, the two set out on a journey into the Labyrinth.
