Shintaro hasn’t left the house for two years, spending most of his time grieving a girl he used to know and being annoyed by Ene, a nosey AI living on his computer. One day, an unfortunate accident forces him to go out shopping and even worse, he ends up in a hostage situation. Luckily, with some help from Ene and a mysterious other boy, Shintaro finds the power to fight back.

Usa is an unsupervised high school student, one of those weirdly common things in anime I’ll never understand outside of plot convenience. He wants to live a quiet life and meet an intelligent girl. Upon moving to his new apartment, he finds peaceful living might not be so easy.
Part 2 of our Spring 2014 Anime Guide is headlined by the Noitamina block of shows and a pair of potential big hits in The Irregular at Magic High School and Knights of Sidonia. Add in a RomCom from the author of Love Lab and a few anime original projects and I’m finding the second half of the guide even more intriguing than the first.
