We’ve entered a reality where Fate is one of the biggest franchises around. Fate/Grand Order (the gacha-based mobile game) alone passed the $3 billion marker in gross revenue in 2019, meaning it’s made about as much money as the entire Legend of Zelda game series combined. How did this franchise, unknown in 2010, become an international juggernaut?
With the end of Zi-O and the beginning of Zero-One, the Neo-Heisei era of Kamen Rider is now over. Not only this, but it fits perfectly into the last decade, meaning I have an excuse to take a look back at the last ten years of Kamen Rider, and assign arbitrary awards instead of moaning about how bad they were.
Music is as integral to a piece of media as visuals or plot, which is why for as long as The GLORIO Blog has existed, we have done some variety of a feature about our favourite anime songs. With the decade having come to a close, we’re presenting the most memorable tracks of them all right here, with all the pithy commentary from yours truly you’ve come to expect.
The decade makes us look back and see how we’ve changed these last ten years. When we started the GLORIO Blog over seven years ago, I was billed as the “romance guy”. I still keep that in remembrance in the many awards of my Year End Post. Yet, I can’t help but notice how my tastes have changed over the decade. While I still enjoy a good romance show, my real passion is for good comedies, the kind of shows you can only get from the unique strengths of animation and Japanese sensibilities.
