Unfortunately the third part of our preview guide features all three of my nominees for the potential worst shows of the season. On the bright side, we have the TV series debut of the popular Ancient Magus Bride, as well as two good returning shows in Blood Blockade Battlefront and March Come In Like a Lion. Check it out, and let us know what you’re watching.
It’s the final roundup of the season and we bid farewell to GAMERS! and Kakegurui. Virgin Soul is stubbornly sticking around for one more episode so I take one last opportunity to eviscerate it.
You could argue the return of Kino’s Journey is the most notable series in Part 2 of our season guide, but there’s also a lot of returning Glorio cult favorites we’re more inclined to be excited about. I mean, singing the praises of shows like Garo, Classicaloid, and Time Bokan is why you love us, right?
The fall season is full of sequels both new and old, as well as a LOT of idol shows. Part 1 of our guide is headlined by the return of 2015’s smash hit Mr. Osomatsu and… well not much else, at least at first glance.
I throw in a few extra paragraphs as we say goodbye to Restaurant to Another World and Sakura Quest, but unfortunately not Virgin Soul. But hey, GAMERS! and Kakegurui are still hanging around and as fun as ever, so we still have one more week with them.
Can you believe the season is almost over already? I hope it ends before the previously reliably GAMERS! falls completely out of my favor, and I certainly will not be sad to see Virgin Soul go away. Fortunately the rest of the Roundup seems like it will stay good till the very end. Enjoy, I’m off to start writing those Fall preview guides…
In a surprise late season twist, GAMERS! is almost bad, Bahamut is almost good, and we temporarily replace Welcome to the Ballroom with… 91 Days???
Summer is nearly over and so is the anime season, but our Roundup shows are showing no signs of slowing down. It seems to be business as usual this week including Bahamut which has completely embraced the soap opera-y mess its become. I guess the “Cinderella Step” ending song was supposed to be literal?
Rage of Bahamut returns from its two week break just in time to drag down what is otherwise a really solid week of Roundup shows. Good thing I “lave” GAMERS! so much, I’d be a lot more mad about it otherwise.
We say welcome (back) to the Ballroom as well as the Quality Trash™ that is Kakegurui after last week’s break, but still no Bahamut this week for better or worse. Meanwhile, Sakura Quest continues to be the best thing going right now.
*crickets*… well this is awkward. Half the Roundup shows are taking the week off, but we still have GAMERS!, Restaurant to Another World, and Sakura Quest to talk about so we’re going to power through it!
The Roundup this week is dedicated in loving memory to The Professor from Sakura Quest. Rest well, sir.
We add GAMERS! to the Roundup, another charming show that sounds terrible on paper that I will probably never convince another person to watch. It’s good, I promise!
With first episodes spanning over three weeks, we’re a bit late firing up the Roundup this season. But hey, we’re here now to talk about Welcome to the Ballroom, Restaurant to Another World, Fastest Finger First, and Kakegurui, plus catchup with Sakura Quest and Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul. Let’s do this!
Keita Amano is stunned to discover that the beautiful and popular student council president is an avid gamer. She scouts him for her video game club, and after meeting all the club members Keita must decide if he wants to join.
A group of friends are desperate to lose their virginity and decide to go after a “gal” due to their promiscuous reputations. Junichi draws the short (long? How does this metaphor work?) straw and is forced to ask one out, only to be shocked when she says “yes”.
Kyou is a shut in who can barely speak above a whisper, but he’s so passionate about song writing that he posts his music online. A fan asks to meet him for a collaboration and to his surprise it turns out to be an elementary school girl. The girl and her two friends ask for Kyou’s help to set up a concert for their ophanage.
Haruto wakes up in a surreal dream world ruled by a powerful witch. Really weird stuff happens but sadly it makes more sense than you would think.
For most of the week Nakoya operates as a regular restaurant, but every Saturday a portal to a fantasy world opens for customers of all kinds. On one of these days a down-on-her-luck demon girl wanders in and the owner offers her a job.
