Wakana Gojo is a first-year high school student who’s made not a single friend all throughout his academic life because of a shameful secret: his love of dolls and his goal to be a hina doll craftsman, just like his grandfather. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Marin Kitagawa, a trendsetting and popular classmate with an unexpected passion for anime and cosplay. When Marin spots Gojo using a sewing machine in the school home ec room, she unselfconsciously declares her hobby and convinces him to make her cosplay outfits for her.

Kawai Mai has recently joined the police force, and is to start working out of a local police box. There she meets Fuji Seiko, her superior and ex-member of Criminal Affairs, who is just a little jaded about the job.
In the near future, a terminal disease that only affects men has devastated the global population. After awakening from cryosleep, Reito Mizuhara discovers he is one of only five men left alive and immune to the disease, and is tasked with repopulating the Earth.

I look back on the year and for as much shit as I love to give anime (and rightfully so sometimes), this year also saw a ton of creativity and artistic vision at work.
