First Look: Kakegurui Twin

However, she soon discovers that she’ll need to up the ante if she really wants to gain the attention and accolades of her peers. Now, with an old classmate-turned-housepet by her side, Mary is determined to gamble (and cheat) her way to true fame and fortune – even if that means taking on the student council.

Jabami Yumeko and the rest of our lovable scamps are back. By day, Hyakkaou Academy for the Obscenely Rich (or otherwise just plain Obscene) is just your average prestigious private high school for the exceedingly privileged. By night, it turns into a gambling den, with apparently any game and any stakes allowed, and where cheating is a-okay so long as it’s spelled out for the audience.

If you go about doing a season preview, it is only obvious you also close off on a season review. In The Wrap-Up, all of our contributors get to shine a spotlight on the show they thought to be the very best of the past few weeks, as well as reflect back on the preview to see which shows let us down the most. When you watch currently airing anime or tokusatsu, eventually the question will rise which of these shows can rank amongst the medium’s true classics. Regardless of who covered what, this is where we single out the cream of the crop, and decide which shows from the past season deserve to stand the test of time.

I throw in a few extra paragraphs as we say goodbye to Restaurant to Another World and Sakura Quest, but unfortunately not Virgin Soul. But hey, GAMERS! and Kakegurui are still hanging around and as fun as ever, so we still have one more week with them.

Can you believe the season is almost over already? I hope it ends before the previously reliably GAMERS! falls completely out of my favor, and I certainly will not be sad to see Virgin Soul go away.
