Summary: Saki manages to restore Satoru’s cantus by imitating the purification ceremony, and the two escape. Satoru uses his new powers to slaughter entire legions of queerats until they reunite with Squealer and his tribe. The fellowship sets out to find Maria, Mamoru and Shun, but ends up being attacked by the Ground Spider clan.
After an attack by Rats splits the group up, Saki and Satoru spend a long and eventful night together.
The group question the Evil Minoshiro, which reveals some of the secrets of this world to them. But before they can get the full story, there’s an unforeseen interruption.

A thousand years into the future, humanity has developed psychic powers. 14 year old Saki has recently finally grown into her powers, allowing her to graduate and join her similarly empowered friends in the ‘Unified Class’. But mystery and intrigue surrounds the whole system and indeed the entire world they live in.
