As the year draws to a close, Aqua provides an overview of the most memorable and interesting characters he got to meet during these four seasons of anime and tokusatsu.
2021 was an unbelievably strong year with some legitimate generational contenders. I look back on the year and for as much shit as I love to give anime (and rightfully so sometimes), this year also saw a ton of creativity and artistic vision at work. Join me as I go through the highs (and lows) of the anime I watched in 2021.
We’ve done this for another year somehow, and Iro’s back to give a brief look at the shows he thinks are worth mentioning. There’s more than usual this time!
It is time once again to look back at the very GLORIO anime that aired in 2021, starting with a list of my favorite anime moments.
We made it to 100 episodes!
We bid farewell to The Heike Story, welcome back Eighty-Six: 86, and go in hard on the latest developments in Sakugan.
We have finally caught up and settled in with the Fall 2021 season.
We say goodbye to Fena: Pirate Princess, catch up on a few leftovers from last season, then settle in with the Fall season shows we’ll (probably) be sticking with.
After a great Spring season and not so great Summer season, it seems balance has been restored to the anime world. The crew gives their first impressions of the good and bad (but mostly good?) new shows of the Fall 2021 season.
In the 2040s, music is lost to humanity because it inevitably lures dangerous alien creatures called “D2”. The only thing capable of defeating them are super-powered young women with the power of music – “Musicarts” – and their magically bound handlers – “Conductors”. The Conductor Takt and his Musicart Destiny (who holds the power of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony) travel across the United States, righting wrongs and playing songs on their way to New York.
It’s strange times in the anime world as we try to do first looks, final thoughts, and Fall 2021 season previews in one single episode.
