Scotland Loves Animation is a yearly festival that runs in Glasgow and Edinburgh, bringing a curated selection of premieres and classic movies to the big screen for a week in October. Three of us from the GLORIO crew were there this month for the latest instalment, where we watched fifteen different films in the charmingly cosy Edinburgh Filmhouse cinema.
Jel, Iro, Marlin, and Gee aka Team GLORIO USA share their final thoughts on the Winter season. We talk about our favorite (or not so favorite) shows, discuss if Netflix is bad for anime, and Jel and Iro continue to battle over segues.

Still recovering from her injuries during the war, Violet is taken in by a former commanding officer who gives her a job working at his delivery business. It’s there she meets the Auto Memory Dolls, women who dictate letters for those who can’t write.
You know what’s weird? Kyoto Animation has not done a TV series in a year, the last one being Ms. Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid in the Winter 2017 season. Consider that one more thing to add to hype machine around their stunning Violet Evergarden, which headlines second part of our Winter 2018 preview guide. The rest of Part 2 is a bit of a mixed bag, but there seems to be a few other shows worth checking out. What’s everyone else got their on eye on?
