Recap: A storm brews outside as Tsukushi’s wish destroys Yoto’s home. However, after reversing the situation, the storm still threatens to flood the house. Is Tsukiko hiding more than we thought?
Well, I expected shit to go down, but I wasn’t expecting The Day After Tomorrow to be the crisis we’d be facing. I guess it works to the shows credit that, instead of literally destroying the world, it simply disconnected our group from it. It would appear the King’s wish destroyed Yoto’s storehouse because he isn’t a part of the Tsutsukakushi’s life(good lord I still don’t get how they say that name so effortlessly). This storm and the subsequent callback to 12 years obviously has some significance in the lives of all of our characters. Yoto’s complete oblivious to this massive disaster gave me Another flashbacks. Looks like we’ll have to wait for that payoff, though. There’s also something fishy about the girls’ father, with his face whited out for no reason than it must be pretty important.
I’m s
till at a loss as to what quite happened in this episode. I get that whatever Tsukiko’s wish was, it was made out of desperation. Still, if she simply wanted Yoto to truly be a part of her family, even stretching that to a Monkey’s Paw mentality wouldn’t have them trapped in her house for all eternity. Wouldn’t that also exclude Azuki? Why didn’t anything happen to her? It didn’t help that Yoto’s excuse for not really wanting to be her brother seemed like a huge cop out. He basically confesses to her, but then backs off, spouting some kind of “distance makes the heart grow fonder” nonsense as why he doesn’t want to stay separate.
I may have been disappointed a bit about the drama, but at least the comedy has stayed consistently funny. Originally just plain weird, Tsukushi’s refuge in audacity has really become quite entertaining. It looks like the romance war is finally about to get its first salvo as Azuki’s assertiveness has really progressed. I don’t know how making her into an even smaller loli is going to improve her chances, but then I guess he’s not called the Hentai Prince for nothing.
