  1. The OVA did go a bit overboard with the designs for the Terraists (it’s a bit less out there in the novel). I suppose it could work if we consider that these are people who passionately believe in something that is ridiculous and pointless nonsense, and yet they are immensely dangerous as fundamentalist/religious fanatics tend to be… but yes, they do look rather silly.
