OP/ED Op-Eds: The Best of Summer 2014

Summer is generally the least interesting period of the year in the world of music, yet I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of enjoyable anime songs this season. I suppose the guy running many a voice actress’s lackluster soprano through Protools deserves a break as well. In any case, it’s time to select the best of the best as the season comes to its end.

All Your Monies: September 22nd 2014

Hello, and welcome to All Your Monies, where The Glorio Blog’s resident toy and figure collecting crew (and Marlin) will run down the last week’s new pre-orders, turning a loving or scathing eye over what’s been put out for you to spend your hard earned cash on. This week it’s slim pickings again, but we’ve got Miku, Maikos and Momotaros (sort of).

GLORIO Fall 2014 Anime Guide Part 1

This past Summer season was great for comedy anime, but as we move to Fall it’s time to get SERIOUS. Part 1 of our guide features two huge names with a brand new Gundam series and the revisiting of the massively popular Fate/Stay Night. The return of F/SN also marks the return of the visual novel adaptation, which seems to be making a comeback this season. Throw in a new series from Kyoto Animation that is as close to more Full Metal Panic as we’re ever going to get and there’s quite a bit to see. Take a look these sweet trailers, let us know what looks good to you, and be ready for more when we launch Part 2.

The Roundup is a weekly guide to all the “other” shows we’re watching this season. Check out our full, weekly coverage of: Blue Spring Ride – Hunter…

The Roundup: Summer 2014 Volume 9

Lifesong and Timmy are off cavorting at Nan Desu Kan but the rest of the crew picks up the slack. Argevollen gets practical, HaNaYaMaTa keeps its pants on for the hot springs episode, and Sabagebu continues its glorious streak of 80’s action movie references.

We hit the midpoint of the season and the entire crop of great comedies are still going strong. Locodol finally ends Sabagebu’s header image streak and no matter how frustrated he gets, Gee is still watching Argevollen and Aldnoah.Zero.

Love Lab Review

Last year, Love Lab took The Glorio Blog by storm. Initially turned off by its lackluster premise, it quickly endeared many of us with its great production values, strong and endearing characters, and top notch gag comedy. I absolutely fell in love with this show, and was excited to hear it was coming overseas. Unfortunately… its carrier was Sentai Filmworks.
