Maybe it’s the incoming Summer heat getting to us or I’m still coming down from the high of Sound! Euphonium episode 8, but a lot shows this week felt like they were just going through the motions. Fortunately the Bromance of My Love Story!! and the unique fantasy of Arslan can still hold things down while the other series aren’t at their best.
My frustration with Dogakobo grows as other shows like SNAFU and Arslan quietly do their thing and do it well. Maybe I chose the wrong shows this season? Also, My Love Story MIGHT have a lawsuit on their hands after stealing the Rocky training montage music.
The smell of hot dogs, the noise of conversation and the breeze from the occasional girder falling from the sky. That’s right, it’s the half time show! The Glorio Rabble have put their heads together to let you know what’s worth your valuable time, in a world where first episodes are high budget and mid-season turns filler if left out in the sun too long.
We’re at the midpoint of the season and the Balance of Power in The Roundup might be shifting. Arslan, Ninja Slayer, and SNAFU’s stocks are on the rise while Mikagura School Suite, Plastic Memories, and possibly even our beloved My Love Story!! are on the decline. Also, Nagato is still moe.
Euri crashes The Roundup as he catches up on the second season of Baby’s First Harem Nisekoi. Meanwhile, Mikagura School Suite and Plastic Memories flip flop their comedy and action this week and My Love Story!! is still hands down the best thing in this post.
AND WE’RE BACK! Join Jel, Iro, and Marlin in the first episode of the official reboot of the official podcast of The Glorio Blog. We chat about the new season and what’s worth watching and what’s worth skipping. Listen now and find out which one of us can do the best YEEEAAARRTTT!!! (spoiler: we are all terrible).
YEEEART!! Ninja Slayer makes its Roundup debut, My Love Story gets surprisingly explosive, and both Dogakobo shows fail at their attempts to make us sad.
In this very special episode, Gouda continues to be thick skulled about his misconceptions. After an awkward meet up with Yamada, Suna finally makes him see the light, and I almost have a heart attack.
My Love Story!! toys with our pure, innocent hearts, Punch Line makes the shortest appearance in Roundup history, and Mikagura School Suite has us thinking Dogakobo is investing all that Plastic Memories money in the wrong show.
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join our loyal readers and our latest batch of weekly anime coverage. For Spring 2015 we’ll be rounding up Mikagura School Suite, My Love Story!!, The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!, Plastic Memories, The Heroic Legend of Arslan and starting next week, Punch Line. I now pronounce you man/woman/other and waifu, you may read the post.
Gouda has grown up all his life falling in love, but the girls only ever have eyes for his friend Sunakawa. After graduating middle school, Gouda stops a molester on the train. He quickly falls in love with the girl he saved, but he believes that history will repeat itself once again.
The final part of our guide goes in strong on the nostalgia with new Digimon and Lupin III series, plus we get Trigger’s latest attempt to SAVE ANIME with Ninja Slayer. Meanwhile, I go against my better judgement and remain cautiously optimistic about Punchline and Yamda-kun and the 7 Witches, two comedies that probably won’t be winning any Anime of the Year awards. Maybe I’m just getting worn down by all this new anime? Take a look and decide for yourself.
