This time: Spoiler Wars, by Tachibana Roku
I sincerely apologize for this week. I confess that I completely forgot about Random Manga Theatre until it was too late at night for me to go read an entire manga and write about it, so instead I pulled up some dumb oneshot that really has no place being on this feature. It’s not long enough to actually talk about, and it’s not interesting enough for me to gush or anything like I have with other oneshots on this feature. It’s just formula and boring and predictable, making it just like this post! How convenient!
Basically, Mr. Cliche High School student is in anime club with his cute senpai, who can’t watch anime at home because of her upbringing or whatever. Our hero accidentally lets a spoiler slip for the currently-airing, super-popular magical girl anime, and the heroine freaks out, leading to a continually escalating war of the two throwing spoilers at each other in the most awkward ways possible. At least, that’s that it should be, if there were actually time to do it in. Spoiler Wars is really short, barely the length of a plain weekly manga chapter. It isn’t even that funny; the heroine is some sort of psychotic otaku, and I guess we’re supposed to laugh at that? I dunno.
Verdict: Spoiler, it sucks
Don’t read this. By no means is it worth your time, or anyone’s time. I guess it might be somewhat amusing, but even then you’d be better off looking for a comedy manga or something. Seriously, just move on from this half-assed post and this half-assed manga.
