Premise

Komura has a crush on his classmate Mie – who normally wears glasses – and he must comically contend with the closeness of her physical presence and general inability to function without eyesight as she somehow repeatedly forgets to don her spectacles before arriving at school.

Iro’s verdict: Fat Load of Nothing

Other than like two minutes of GOHANDS’ infamously wackadoo animation in a few spots, this is one of those shows that has precisely one shtick (as seen in its title) and uses it as a blunt instrument to have two pretty anime people stand around and flirt with each other. Presumably around episode three to five it will introduce a few more characters who are somehow even less interesting than the main couple and begin morphing into a middling ensemble comedy, like most of these shows do. Not for me.

Zigg’s verdict: Not Bad Enough

I think that, like many an idle viewer, the main draw of this show was seeing whether GOHANDS could produce an absolute disasterpiece of visual styling akin to their magnum opus Hand Shakers. Unfortunately, I’m here to inform you that, bar the extremely zany arrival at school that has already gone viral, this show is largely just bad in the normal, boring ways of bad writing, bad characters and bad pacing. Imagine Takagi-san without any jokes and any charm and you’re pretty much there. Here’s a PSA for anime writers – it’s possible to write characters who are shy, withdrawn teenage boys without making them literally incapable of the most basic human interactions. The biggest problem here though is the one I can draw comparison to my real life with – as someone who is pretty much as shortsighted as Mie is here, I put my glasses on in the morning and never take them off until I go to bed. Furthermore, it is impossible to not notice if you don’t have them on. I mean, this show also sucks out loud, but I’m taking on the real issues here.
