There are lots of pretty boys and they’re gods, and they have to stop other gods who are probably not as pretty.

Artemis’ verdict: 2001 Called, They Want Their Bishounen Fantasy Back
Ah yes, that renowned work that is being animated by… *checks notes* the studio that also did One Room, and which is streaming on… *rustles paper* everyone’s favorite anime streaming platforms, Amazon and YouTube.
All jokes aside, this is fine I guess? If you’re here for the bishounen, awesome, there’s probably a boy here for everyone. If you’re here for the plot, also great – I couldn’t really tell you what that is because I tuned out after a couple of minutes, but I’m sure it’s there and makes sense, even though what little I caught of it sounded extremely convoluted. There’s a bit of queerbaiting here and there too, but this isn’t a boys’ love work – just a fairly generic fantasy with some action sprinkled in to keep things entertaining between long bouts of dialogue. You should probably watch this if you’re now in your 30s or up and still feel nostalgic about early 2000s not-boys’-love shows like Saiyuki. Otherwise, probably safe to skip.
