  1. As someone who listened to the podcast today, then spent an evening watching the six episodes of 365 Days to the Wedding currently out with their mum who has never watched anime before (she was recovering from being sedated and needed company/supervision while dad was out at a prior commitment), some thoughts on the “you can watch it with your mum” claim:

    • Largely I’d agree; she enjoyed it (although didn’t realise going in that it was a series rather than a film and she wouldn’t see the end today)
    • The Sailor Moon extended reference in episode 3 got a “does someone always have to dress up as a schoolgirl [in anime]?”
    • The “Princess falls on top of main guy chest-first” bit had me worried and was maybe a bit tropey
    • The extended “new divorcee turns into a gorilla” bit got the comment “is this supposed to be some sort of funny interlude?”

I’ll report back if we carry on watching later.

    • Thank you for your thorough research. I literally just finished episode 6 five minutes ago, and putting that gorilla bit in the middle of one of the most serious anime depictions of divorce was wild.
