  1. I can’t speak for Aquarion Myth of Emotions, partly because it’s only 2 episodes so far, and partly because the latest Aquarion offering, Logos, was extremely underwhelming both as an Aquarion show and as just an anime. So far I’m enjoying Myth of Emotions, but to me the show’s length will be the deciding factor. (Note though that “myth of emotions” abbreviates to “moe” and this being Aquarion, I can’t imagine that being a coincidence.)

But I very VERY much recommend watching the original Aquarion (not the OVA! the TV series) because that one is one of the most genuinely delightful shows I’ve seen and I think it would be right up your (collective?) street. Let’s put it this way, when the entire English language anime fandom was going gaga over Gurren Lagann, some of us were sitting in the corner going “OK but Aquarion has done that already and it was much better and funnier.” And sure, I’m not a giant robot person so I’m sure Aquarion was already building on other shows I’m not familiar with, but… well, you liked Bravern, so I think you’d at least appreciate Aquarion, too! It has some amazing designs, gattais taken to their logical conclusions, fun if not very original characters, an awesome soundtrack, and a whooole lot of, uh, passion. (The sequel-of-sorts, Aquarion Evol, is also great but it has a bad reputation for shipping reasons.)

    • I tried pulling up Aquarion and it seems that’s one of the many streaming shows that died with Funimation. I still might check it out via “other means”, we’ll see

  2. If you guys need a series about art to chew on after Zenshu, I recommend checking out Billy Bat by Naoki Urasawa. It’s probably one of my favorite manga from him (and thats a pretty high bar to cross considering most of his work is really good). Also, Albert Einstein is a minor character in it. Do you wanna know why Albert Einstein is in it? You gotta read Billy Bat.

    • I’m not much of manga reader myself but given the author, it wouldn’t surprise me if someone on the GLORIO crew has read it

  3. My Happy Marriage is going have to carry me through the whole season I guess. Even then, I’m worried I’m getting too old for romance shows. I tried rewatching Kimi ni Todoke on Netflix after My Happy Marriage last year, and it just didn’t hit the same.

    • I think over the decades I went from anime romance being relatable, to nostalgic, to now where I’m like a proud uncle hoping these crazy kids figure it out. Kind of depends on the show I guess, there’s definitely been a few that had me thinking I’m way too old for this.
