Hearing y’all talk about Gavv made me think of Sakamoto Days, which has solved its identity crisis by… completely dropping the slice of life aspect and just becoming another assassin battle shonen. Which, yeah, it’s the most boring choice they could have made, and removes any element that would make it unique, but at least it’s now somewhat entertaining to watch instead of simply being a mess.
Strong season, though, I wanna give one last shoutout to See You Tomorrow at the Food Court, which was my surprise of the season. I thought i’d get bored of the concept real quick but it managed to stay fun and engaging throughout.
Also been pleasantly surprised by There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover. Yes, it’s harem trash. Yes, it’s nonsense. But the snappy pacing and bubbly animation make for a fun ride, and it’s very silly throughout. I mean, they settle a feud by running a PUBG tournament with marriage on the line. And honestly, there’s already plenty of shitty het romcoms, it’s only fair that we get some gay alternatives every once in a while.
The Food Court show as kind of on my radar at the beginning of the season but I never got around to it. I’ve heard some good things though.
