First Look: Endride

Likeable Teenage Male #24 gets sucked into Alternative Universe #17, where he immediately meets Angsty Justice-Seeking Prince #35 and gets unintentionally caught up in Revenge Story #63. A whirlwind adventure filled with crystals, magical swords, and meaningful life lessons awaits!

First Look: Ace Attorney

Phoenix Wright is a rookie defense attorney in the near-future Los Angeles (like seriously, the first game is set in this coming year), where trials are only given three days to find a culprit. With the help of his mentor Mia Fey, he starts his legal career clearing the name of his scoundrel of a best friend, Larry Butz.

First Look: Macross ∆

About 8 years after the events of Macross Frontier, a group of idols and valkyrie pilots fight to control the spread of Vars Syndrome – an ailment that makes people go mad but can be cured with magic singing. Maybe. There’s also another squad of fighters that seem to be bad guys? Honestly, I don’t know what’s going on.

First Look: My Hero Academia

In a world where nearly everyone has superhuman abilities or ‘Quirks’, Izuku Midoriya is one of the unlucky few to be born powerless. That hasn’t stopped him from being a huge superhero fanboy, but without abilities of his own will he ever make the leap from fan to full-blown hero?

The Roundup: Winter 2016 Volume 12

Yes, we did already do our season Wrap Up and yes, new shows are airing, but there are still a few shows left to round up. Fortunately all four remaining series end on a high note, delivering pretty much everything we could have realistically expected for final episodes.

Final Thoughts: Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash

After twelve weeks of guilt, grief and gratuitous gluteus maximus, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash has come to an end, so it’s time to consider all of its vices and virtues one more time and see if this show deserves to stand as the one “trapped in a video game” anime to trump them all, or if it will go down in history as little more than a curiosity.

The Wrap-Up: Winter 2016

If you go about doing a season preview, it is only obvious you also close off on a season review. In The Wrap-Up, all of our contributors get to shine a spotlight on the show they thought to be the very best of the past few weeks, as well as reflect back on the preview to see which shows let us down the most. When you watch currently airing anime or tokusatsu, eventually the question will rise which of these shows can rank amongst the medium’s true classics. Regardless of who covered what, this is where we single out the cream of the crop, and decide which shows from the past season deserve to stand the test of time.

GLORIO Spring 2016 Anime Guide Part 3

Our final round of previews features the much hyped Trigger original Kiznaiver, some sleepy slice of life shows, and a bus tour gone wrong that sounds like the anime equivalent of Lost. We even have Dogakobo’s next potential successor to Love Lab, although several years later I know better than to get my hopes up for that.

GLORIO Spring 2016 Anime Guide Part 2

Part 2 of our guide features some potential big hits in the visually stunning Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and the shonen mass appeal of Twin Star Exorcists. Throw in some super cool pre-war era style with Joker Game, a healthy dose of urban fantasy with Bungou Stray Dogs, and some absurdist comedy with Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, and this season is looking pretty good… well, except for Netoge, which could turn out to be one of the worst show in years.

GLORIO Spring 2016 Anime Guide Part 1

A little later than usual, but it’s time once again to check out the hot new shows for next season. Winter had the strongest batch of shows overall that we’ve seen in a long time, so Spring 2016 has some big shoes to fill. Part 1 of our guide gets us off to a good start with the return of Jojo and the adaptation of popular manga My Hero Academia. Macross Delta is also totally happening this time, I promise.

Digimon Adventure Adventure: Part 5

Aquagaze and Irothtin love Digimon. Zigg has never watched Digimon. 16 years after the original Digimon Adventure started airing, can it hold up to Aqua and Iro’s preteen memories? Can it convert Zigg, seeing it for the first time? Can anyone avenge Pump and Gotsu?

The Roundup: Winter 2016 Volume 9

Our Roundup shows intensify as the end of the season approaches. Join us for the emotional drama and psychological pain that is Ojisan and Marshmallow and Sekko Boys… and probably Rakugo. Also my computer broke last night and I couldn’t do screencaps so enjoy pictures of robots punching robots courtesy of Iro.
