It’s time for part deux of our highly esteemed season preview and for some reason, Jel has given me the lion’s part of the stuff that actually looks halfway decent to speculate about.
Kousei is slowly unraveling as the performance goes on. Resigning to his failure, he shocks everyone and stops midway. Giving himself a moment to reflect, he finds the will to play again.
With the immediate threat over, Shinichi tries to go back to his normal life at school. At the same time, strange dreams and Shinichi’s warnings make Kana start to get even more interested in him. Elsewhere, a modified Parasyte is unleashed in some clandestine operation. His efforts appear to run parallel with other Parasytes attempting to infiltrate the local government.
Winter 2015 is bringing us lots of big name sequels, a few intriguing anime originals, and a dumpster fire full of light novel adaptations with awful sounding premises. Part 1 of our guide is headlined by Lily Bear Storm, the latest work of the delightfully insane Kunihiko Ikuhara and, while I’m loathe to admit it, the anime based on the phenomenon that is Kantai Collection.
After the big fight, Team Try Fighters take a much needed break. When Sekai’s sister ends up in a fashion model themed gunpla tournament, Yuuma helps her build her own gunpla. But when a handsome jerk with an awesome Turn A shows up though, will her new gunpla hold up?
Everyone quivers in terror for an entire episode. Except for Kamui, who is too busy trying to drown people in shit. Literally.
Video games rule this week as SeHa Girls manages a rare decent episode and Log Horizon shows us its actually about mutual respect between people with different opinions. Also, Garo and Shirobako are still good.
We’re back a bit earlier this season with that feature where I can pretend to write for Pitchfork again, and in grand music industry tradition, we’ll start picking the best song of the season already when the season’s still going on, just to get it out of the way before the yearly wrap-up content.
Archer protects Shirou from Caster while Assassin guards the temple entrance from Saber. The next day, Shinji makes his move at school, only for Rider to be mysteriously defeated by Caster.
Recap We get even more backstory about Emi, as well as a weird techno remix of a perfectly fine Chopin piece. Later, Kousei finally takes the stage, and the battle with his demons begins.
Before Arima gets his time to shine, Takeshi and Emi take the floor and raise the bar. Both of them channel their rivalry with Arima through their music, and see it bring them success. With these years of emotion building up, will Arima be able to live up to their expectations?
Shimada’s confrontation spirals out of control as his body is damaged. With no way to stop his autonomous Parasyte reactions, he goes on a killing spree in Murano’s class. Shinichi goes to save her, and resolves to defeat Shimada by his own hand. Later, we learn just how much the government knows about the Parasyte threat.
The regional championship is finally here. Sekai, Fumina, and Yuuma face off against the seemingly indomitable Team G-Master.
In a very special episode of Psycho-Pass 2, Akane takes a shower, Kamui takes a train and Tow Ubakuta takes a shit on this entire franchise.
The lineup is thinning out as we approach the final few episodes of the season, but The Roundup is still going strong! Psycho Pass is conspicuously missing (more on that a bit later today), Garo reminds us that Rage of Bahamut isn’t the only rad show by Mappa this season, and Iro gets to yell DEEEEEEEEEEEN for the first time in a good long while.
Azazel has gained confidence after starring in The Binding of Isaac and launches an attack to capture Amira. Favaro somehow becomes a knight, and the King of Anatae gets a bit miffed at not receiving a present.
The fairies of Elementario are totally out of sync and it’s hurting their visitor count. Latifah calls a meeting to get them on the same page which naturally leads to them triggering the castle’s automatic defense system, raining cannon fire on anything in the area. Can the fairies work together to save the park? #thisshowisweird
Shinichi’s mind is starting to change with his body, and Murano is starting to notice it more and more. A new parasyte is sent into Shinichi’s school, keeping him on edge. Later, one of Murano’s friends discovers the secret of the Parasytes, and despite being totally defenseless tries to handle the new arrival herself.
The matchups for the semifinals have been decided, and Kauruko’s team faces off against Team G-Master, last year’s regional champions. Even with encouragement from Sekai, can Gyanko and her shields hold up?
