What would you do if you were a film executive with way too much money? Jel, Iro, Aqua, Gee, Euri, and Artemis plan out their dream anime Hollywood adaptation.
In a surprise late season twist, GAMERS! is almost bad, Bahamut is almost good, and we temporarily replace Welcome to the Ballroom with… 91 Days???
On a fateful day in July 2012, we created our first post. To commemorate this special occasion, we decided to relive our favorite part of forcing ourselves to watch every anime that ever comes out: the surprises. Just about every season a show or two pops up out of nowhere and turns out to be pretty good, and we wanted to give a shout out to a few you might of missed. In today’s post we’re looking at 2016, which was such a good year for anime that it almost takes up a post of its own.
Another year’s gone by, and Iro’s got more random awards for stuff he liked! Hooray!
2016 was bad. Watching the world fall apart has made something as silly as writing about cartoons difficult to focus on at times. Still, it’s good to have a way to escape and anime has been good for that. In fact, I’d say this is the best overall year of anime we’ve had since 2011. I certainly had fun compiling my annual list of favorite moments and it was hard to narrow down to ten… so I decided not to. Hey, it’s my list and I will do what I want. So enjoy the list and stay tuned for the rest of the week as the rest of the crew shares their highlights from this year.
It’s the last Roundup of the Summer season and we bid farewell to a surprisingly solid lineup of shows with an appropriately solid batch of finales. Well, except for 91 Days, they still have one more episode to kill everyone off.
Summer is over and we must prepare to say goodbye to our Roundup shows. Sweetness and Lightning is the first to go, with everyone else setting us up for their finales. So enjoy these fun episodes while you can and save those tears for next week.
