The GLORIO Decade: Marlin’s Top Ten Comedies

The decade makes us look back and see how we’ve changed these last ten years. When we started the GLORIO Blog over seven years ago, I was billed as the “romance guy”. I still keep that in remembrance in the many awards of my Year End Post. Yet, I can’t help but notice how my tastes have changed over the decade. While I still enjoy a good romance show, my real passion is for good comedies, the kind of shows you can only get from the unique strengths of animation and Japanese sensibilities.

After the war, cybernetically enhanced super soldiers known as Extends struggle to reintegrate themselves into society. Their bodies modified to the point of barely resembling humans, they are powerful, dangerous, and sometimes unhinged. Often resorting to becoming criminals or mercenaries, the world has become rife with Extend related crime. Inui Juuzou is an Extend, with no memory of his past or how his entire head got replaced with a gun. Now he lives as a private eye, taking on Extend related cases.

First Look: Stars Align

Shijo Minami Middle School is known all over the country for its excellent girls’ soft tennis team. The boys’ team, on the other hand, is little more than a punch line. Desperate to avert his club’s dissolution following a draconic new rule imposed by the student council, the team’s captain tries to recruit Maki Katsuragi, a new transfer student, after noticing his amazing reflexes. Maki, however, refuses to join unless the club is willing to pay him — hinting at the fact that he has other things to be worried about.

Anthropomorphic herbivores and carnivores live together in a civilized world. After an herbivore student is found murdered and eaten at Cherryton Academy, old racial tensions flare up among the student body. In the middle of all this is a grey wolf named Legosi. Taciturn, awkward, but ultimately compassionate, he struggles with his own place in the world. While navigating the often complicated relationships between both herbivores and his own fellow carnivores, he meets two herbivores who will change his life forever. A dwarf rabbit named Haru and a red deer named Louis.

First Look: ACTORS – Songs Connection

Otonomiya Saku is a transfer student with an apparently amazing vocal range, and who the Singing Club at his new school are excited about for his potential to perform the song they plan on using for an upcoming competition. Meanwhile, some kind of mysterious force or beings known as the “white shadows” are making themselves known, not only to Saku but also to some of the teachers at the school, who seem to want to use its/their power in some way for an as yet unknown purpose.
