Summary: It’s time for Yamabuki’s annual swimming meet! Nori, Miyako and Sae get wet and Yuno is given the very important task of photographer. Meanwhile, Yoshinoya makes glorious abuse of the situation to make the temperature rise.

Who the heck would give Yuno a 1,000$ camera? See, this is why men are going extinct in the Hidamari Sketch world.

This episode also marks the return of Nori’s strange obsession with Miyako’s breasts.

Random observations:

• How come Yuno still can’t swim even if her school has an actual swimming pool? Why go through all the effort to build a bloody pool when you won’t even use it to teach your pupils how to swim?
• I’ve never really understood why swimming is not part of the gym curriculum in some Japanese schools. Hey, our kids will drown when they fall into the water, but if you need an 11-year old to solve a trigonometric function, we’re your guys!
• Hidamari Sketch is one of the very few anime that I have seen that has its characters wearing swim caps at the pool. Must be some strange fetish of Shinbo’s.
• I never mentioned this before, but in true Hidamari Sketch fashion, x Honeycomb‘s OP varies between “amazingly animated” to “God damn it, Shaft, you have literally no justification for this with all that Madoka money”. What is nice though, is that the latter often changes in between episodes.
