OP/ED Op-Eds: Tsurezure Monochrome [Tsuritama]

I’m stuck in a particularly dark, depressing stretch of winter in my part of the world so for this week’s OP/EDs I’m in the mood for some bright summer colors and silly dancing. Not too long ago I featured Fujifabric’s “Tsurezure Monochrome” in my Best OPs and EDs of 2012 over at Japanator, so I’m going to phone this one in and have the nerve to quote myself:

I absolutely adore the art of Uki Atsuya and Tsuritama just oozes his unique style. But beyond the cool art and surprisingly plot relevant Enoshima Dance, it’s really the song that wins me over. Sounding something like the Pillows if they picked up a full time electric organ player, “Tsurezure Monochrome” is the kind of music I would actually listen to whether it was anime related or not.

So join me as I kick back and pretend I’m off fishing on an island with a bunch of socially awkward anime dudes and NOT buried under a foot of snow and ice. Maybe I’ll even throw on a pair of sunglasses for maximum irony.
