OP/ED Op-Eds: Best of Winter 2013

jojo11op

With the winter season already out the door and our Spring First Impressions taking up our time, we decided to not have an OP/EDs last week. So, have a double feature with the best of last season!

OP: Bloody Stream by Coda (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)

ED: Stand Up ED! by the Ixion Cast (Ixion Saga DT)

Bloody Stream by Coda
Sono Chi no Sadame was a manly anthem, fitting the gentleman that was Jonathan Joestar, so we were all left wondering what kind of OP sequence his grandson would get. Bloody Stream is a crazed, psychedelic romp through the utter silliness that is the Battle Tendency arc, full of colorful silhouettes and bombastic action. We couldn’t have asked for a better opening to represent Joseph Joestar.

Stand UP ED! by the Ixion Cast
Sometimes an ED just screams “I belong to this anime!” in a way that manages to improve the quality of the anime itself. This is one such ED. Could a man with no balls ever hope for a more appropriate theme song than this? I don’t think so.

    • Phantom Blood was airing during Fall 2012 and not the Winter 2013 season, so it was ineligible for this particular post. We did feature it on OP/ED Op-Eds earlier, though.
