Iro’s Verdict: Half and Half

Just from this first episode, I both like and dislike certain things about Tokyo Ravens. The idea that magic is an accepted part of everyday life (“It’s the Magical Investigation Bureau!”) is a fun one, and Toji is the first best friend character since Amagami SS to not get on my nerves (“Just roll with it”). On the other hand, the plot progression and character types are cliche enough to almost entirely turn me off. We have the requisite bored, snarky protagonist who is nevertheless loved by all the ladies, whose numbers include the spunky classmate and the childhood-marriage-promise friend. I’ll need at least another episode or two to see if I want to keep going.

Lifesong’s Verdict: Yes I Like The Crazy Ones

Everyone else at the Glorio crew watched this first and have all been telling me how much I am going to love the end of the first episode. Ah, how nice it is to have friends who know you so well… >_< What can I say? I thought the first half was cute, but also kind of boring. The chick at the end more or less ensured that I will be watching episode two. What can I say? Even if I tried to defend myself the rest of my “friends” here would be sure to let me have it.
