There’s seven death drives in the OP and that would make sense with their names aligning with the seven deadly sins (Superbia=Pride, Cupiridas as Crunchyroll transliterated it is nonsense, but Cupiditas=Greed).
Now that we have this wish mechanic, I’m starting to think Bravern is secretly the bad guy who created this invasion in order to fulfill his wish of being a super robot hero.
To combine it with your Lewis Smith theory, maybe an alternate dimension Lewis Smith desired being a super robot hero so much he went crazy and created Bravern?
I could also see it is Lewis Smith from the future wishing to go back to stop the destruction of humankind or something like that. It’s also possible they are just dropping red herrings to make a joke later about how we all thought Bravern was Lewis Smith, it’s that kind of show.
