Premise

Kamihate Uryuu has moved in with three sisters that work as live-in shrine maidens. The usual harem stuff ensues.

Euri’s verdict: I can think of two other Amagami shows you should watch instead

From the frustratingly unlikeable protagonist to the constant misunderstandings, Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister certainly is another harem show. The introduction to the sisters involves an attempt to subvert the ‘walk in on them changing’ trope; instead, the protagonist gets to see them in their lingerie when they open the door without knowing he’s there. Totally different.

The only thing that really stood out to me was just how inconsistent the quality of the art is. There are some nice looking shots of the shrine, and of falling sakura, but you’re quickly whisked away and treated to something that doesn’t look as good, like a close-up of the weirdly bug-eyed younger sister. Perhaps this is a result of trying to match the manga’s art style, but it doesn’t gel well in my opinion.

I’m sure this seems incredibly reductive, but the first episode of this show is so unremarkable that I’m struggling to think of anything worth saying. Scratch that – watch a good show like Amagami SS instead.
