Got busy last season, finally catching up on Eureka Seven. I’m surprised you guys didn’t catch the most traumatizing part: when Renton remembers the arm, he doesn’t focus on the gore, but on the hand, which clearly shows a wedding ring. To me the subtext is that he realized in that moment that his killing has left a child fatherless as he was.
