Good to hear the Marriagetoxin rec wasn’t off the mark!
A show that kinda caught me by surprise is Kamiina Botan, which is mainly about a bunch of university girls in a dorm room getting drunk in various ways and flirting with each other. It’s just a very low-key relaxing show a la Yuru Camp, with some really nice animation. Also, it has the best opening of the season.
In “defense” of Witch Hat Atelier, i do think it has a considerable focus on what it actually means to be raising and teaching children, and cultivating curiosity and creativity in them, which helps it stand out from your average coming-of-age fantasy story. Also the magic system is just really smartly designed, both in the flexibility it offers within the story itself and in the way it so easily allows for fan interaction and fan creations.
Anyways the ACTUAL trio of manga people should be talking about is the Food Brings People Together trio: Dungeon Meshi, Golden Kamuy and Dorohedoro. It probably sounds dumb but when re-reading each of them i did end up thinking of the other two more often than i would have expected.
