There are times when you need to look at yourself in the mirror and ask, “is this worth it?”. That is what Wotakoi and Tada Never Falls In Love have made me ask the past few weeks and I’m afraid my answer at this point is “no”. Fortunately the rest of the Roundup shows are still pretty good, with Hinamatsuri in particular keeping its hot streak alive from last week and Amanchu somehow getting WEIRDER.
The Nines return to pay Squad 13 a visit and bring their RADICAL MARXIST SJW agenda with them. Also this week, Zigg returns to the blog and immediately wishes he hadn’t.
We’re already half way through the season and there’s a lot to look forward to as our Roundup shows pass the midpoint… well, unless you’re talking about Tada Never Falls in Love and Wotakoi, they might not survive much longer. ANYWAY, Hinamatsuri dropped one of the best episodes of the year this week and Amanchu! is taking a shocking turn that at the very least has us intrigued, so there’s certainly plenty to talk about.
Team GLORIO USA hands out mid-term grades to all the shows we’re watching, determining if each show is better, worse, or the same since the last time we discussed them. Also, we pay tribute to the classic Pokémon character Nurse Jenny.
In the aftermath of the battle for Gran Crevasse, Squad 13 is mysteriously placed under an isolated house arrest.
This week proves I still know nothing about anime as the shows I was anticipating like Tada Never Falls in Love and Wotakoi are getting worse while the surprises like Real Girl and Last Period are getting better. Not sure if that will still be the case by the end of the season, but what I do know is that Hinamatsuri is still very good and you should watch that if you’re not already. Please.
HEY KIDS, welcome to another edition of The Roundup! While I come to terms with the fact that Pikari’s muppet face is terrifying out of context, enjoy another batch of anime episode reviews. Spoilers: Hinamatsuri is really good, Tada-kun is really bad.
We might not be The Avengers, but nevertheless Team GLORIO USA has assembled for an honest discussion about Netflix and the state of how we watch anime in 2018.
Squad 13 team up with a bunch of other FRANXX units, including the enigmatic Nines, for an assault on the ‘Gran Crevasse’
We’re back! The Roundup returns to its regular format with Real Girl, Last Period, Steins;Gate 0, Tada Never Falls In Love, Wotakoi, Himamatsuri, and Amanchu. No fights to the death this time, just good ol’ fashion anime mini-reviews.
It’s been a long ride, and though the story of March Comes In Like A Lion is clearly not finished, it’s safe to say I am incredibly satisfied with where we leave off.
Tell your friends. Tell your enemies.
Hiro remembers his first encounter with Zero Two in their early childhood, while back in the present her violent assault on him causes the rest of the squad to reject her.
The development of revolutionary energy technology led to a mass apocalyptic event created by “Evolution Fields,” which have caused biological organisms to merge with technology, leading to monstrous evolution and devastation. In the wake of this apocalyptic event, humans desperately fight against both these monsters and each other for survival.
This episode is dedicated in loving memory to the Golden Kamuy anime.
Hisone Amakasu is a somewhat flustered rookie in the Japanese Air Self-Defence Force, who accidentally stumbles upon a dragon hidden on her base.
Jumping in right where we left off 13(!) years ago with The Second Raid, Kaname Chidori is once again the target of various military conspiracies and PMC ambushes. Teletha “Tessa” Testarossa’s estranged brother, Leonard, has returned to kidnap Chidori and do various shady bad guy things. Once again, Chidori’s bodyguard/classmate/boyfriend Sousuke Sagara steps up to the plate to deal with it all, preferably while in a giant robot.
The SCM is a device that lets its wearer enslave anyone also wearing an SCM, lest you defeat them in a competition first. While Eiya Arakawa enters a bizarre contract with a Yuuga, a thrill-seeking weirdo keen to try out the device, a girl named Lucie uses hers to serve the man who raped her his just desserts. Yup, this is that kind of show.
After failing to save Makise Kurisu, Okabe Rintarou hangs up the white labcoat and determines to live his life as a normal student. This has caused him to drift from almost all his former friends, but has given him the stability his foray into time travel robbed of him. However, new work in artificial intelligence will draw him back into the world of mad science.
