All Your Monies: August 17th 2015

Hello, and welcome to All Your Monies, where The Glorio Blog’s resident toy and figure collecting crew (and Aqua) will run down the last week’s new pre-orders, turning a loving or scathing eye over what’s been put out for you to spend your hard earned cash on. This week I (Zigg) have returned to restore some order to this feature. And by order, I mean here’s some more Love Live and Fate.

The Half Time Show: Summer 2015

The smell of animated beef patties, the hum of cicadas and the breeze from the giant monster battle occurring off-screen. That’s right, it’s the half time show! The Glorio Rabble have put their heads together to let you know what’s worth your valuable time, in a world where first episodes are high budget and mid-season turns filler if left out in…

The Roundup: Summer 2015 Volume 4 – Late Edition

Me, Iro, Euri, and Marlin frantically flail about as we try to fill in for Artemis while she’s away. Fortunately it’s a good week as old favorites Durarara!! and Working!!! are on their game, Snow White and My Love Story continue to be adorable, and Crowds drops the mic with some hot social commentary. Good times!

The Roundup: Summer 2015 Volume 3 – Late Edition

Love prevails as many of this week’s episodes feature romance to one degree or another. Whether you prefer the dysfunctional, roundabout relationships of Durarara!! and Working!!! or the more easy going vibe of Snow White and My Love Story!, there’s something for everyone. Also, Gatchaman Crowds Insight is still really good.

The Roundup: Summer 2015 Volume 3 – Early Edition

Things are looking grim for the Early Edition as Chaos Dragon becomes our first casualty of the season and many of the other shows aren’t quite up to par. Ironically we have School Live confirming it is, in fact, the darkest timeline and Prison School turning out to be quite funny. Who’d have guessed that?

The Roundup: Summer 2015 Volume 2 – Early Edition

50% of the Roundup Early Edition shows now have “School” in the title as we add the deliciously dark School Live! and the eccentric Prison School. OK fine one of them is actually “classroom” but close enough. Meanwhile, Chaos Dragon, Ushio and Tora, and Classroom Crisis trip up a bit but hey, Miss Monochrome is still great!

The Roundup: Summer 2015 Volume 1 – Early Edition

With several members of the Glorio Crew out and about this summer, we’re going to try something a little different: we’re now going to have an Early and Late edition of the Roundup! Starting today we’ll be rounding up Chaos Dragon, Ushio and Tora, Miss Monochrome, and Classroom Crisis to be joined next week by School Live! and Prison School. Then on Friday join us for the Late edition to see what other shows we’ll be covering.

The Wrap-Up: Spring 2015

If you go about doing a season preview, it is only obvious you also close off on a season review. In The Wrap-Up, all of our contributors get to shine a spotlight on the show they thought to be the very best of the past few weeks, as well as reflect back on the preview to see which shows let us down the most. When you watch currently airing anime or tokusatsu, eventually the question will rise which of these shows can rank amongst the medium’s true classics. Regardless of who covered what, this is where we single out the cream of the crop, and decide which shows from the past season deserve to stand the test of time.

GLORIO Summer 2015 Anime Guide Part 3

Part 3 of our Summer 2015 Anime Guide is basically a formality for me to talk about my most anticipated show of the season, Gatchaman Crowds Inisght. Hopefully the surreal, colorful look at life in the Social Media Age will be the sequel we never knew we needed. As for the rest of it, well, despite what Gee tells me about Prison School I can’t say we saved the best for last. But, who knows? Maybe Bikini Warriors and Pillow Boys will turn out to be new anime classics! Take a look and let us know what you think looks watchable.

The Roundup: Spring 2015 Volume 11

Jel delivers his eulogy for Mikagura School Suite and says sayonara to Ninja Slayer, but sadly not Plastic Memories. Meanwhile just about every other show is going for the Baker’s Dozen on episode count or continuing to next season, so it seems reports of the Summer 2015 Roundup’s demise were premature.
