GLORIO Special Report: Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel I. presage flower US Premiere

As GLORIO’s official Type-Moon fan as well as a SoCal local, I was legally obligated to attend the USA premiere of the newest UFOtable Fate project, a film adaptation of Heaven’s Feel, the original visual novel’s third and final route. Or, to be more accurate, the first of three film adaptations of Heaven’s Feel. So, naturally, I bound and gagged fellow crewmember Gee-Man in my passenger’s seat and braved the infinite perils of downtown Los Angeles to discover if it was all worth the wait.

The Roundup: Fall 2017 Volume 3

I feel like this ship is slowly sinking as many of our Roundup shows continue to be slightly disappointing. Not bad mind you, but flawed enough to dampen our fun. I mean, how else do you explain Classicaloid employing talking dogs and me not really enjoying it? At least Blood Blockade Battlefront is in top form and I think Anime-gataris has finally won me over, and it seems Just Because is doing well enough to join us this week. What’s everyone else think of the season so far?

A new in-game event sparks a conversation between Moriko and the boy at the convenience store, and Lilac finds herself looking at her guild members a little differently. With Yuta unable to sort out his feelings for Moriko, Koiwai leaps into action.

The Roundup: Fall 2017 Volume 2

Some of our returning shows are starting to lose their luster, but don’t worry, there’s still a lot of good anime going on. Old reliable favorites like Mr. Osomatsu and Blood Blockade Battlefront are holding it down, but I’m not entirely sure why Aqua is still making himself watch Love Live! Sunshine!!.

Pretend we’re still living in better times as we welcome back Mr. Osomatsu, Classicaloid, Love Live! Sunshine!!, March Comes In Like a Lion, Blood Blockade Battlefront and technically, Kino’s Journey. Oh, and I guess we have Roundup newcomers The Ancient Magus Bride and Anime-Gataris.

Sometimes a show comes along that just deserves to be eviscerated. Perhaps it showcases the worst of anime’s stereotypes. Perhaps it takes an interesting premise and ruins it with befuddling plots or infuriating character arcs. Perhaps you think a show should literally be labelled a war crime by the Geneva Convention. That’s where the HATEWATCH comes in. When the show does it to such a degree, sometimes you need to watch it just for the cathartic value of demolishing whatever dreg of culture or bad taste it represents. This is #HATEWATCH 2017. One of Moriko’s guild members asks about her personal life and unsure how to respond, she lies about her age. This comes as a shock to Lily, who is apparently older in real life. Later, Moriko literally runs into the mysterious hot blonde dude she saw at the convenience store and the two make a connection.

While exploring another island one day, Chakuro and his friends discover a mysterious girl who may come from a world beyond their knowing.

First Look: The Ancient Magus’ Bride

Orphaned and plagued by visions of otherworldly creatures, Chise Hatori has sold herself into slavery, looking for a place to call home. Luckily, the mysterious man who ends up buying her has something else for her in mind. Welcoming her into his household, he announces himself as the titular magus, Elias Ainsworth, and claims he’ll make Chise his apprentice… and his bride.

Minoa is trying to remember an anime she saw as a kid. She enlists the help of the super rich and aloof Kamiigusa, who is also a closet anime fan. Together they decide to form an anime club to help find the anime they’re looking for.
