And so another GLORIO year comes to a close and we’ve reached the moment everyone has been waiting for: our picks the best shows of 2015.
Last year I was blessed with some great romance shows that made up for just how few had been released, but this year I have to strain to string together more than two or three shows together where romance was the most appealing factor. Still, there were a few really good things to talk about. Snow White remained captivating and adorable all the way to the break, and Yamada-kun’s heartfelt romance almost made up for it’s runaway train of a final stretch. With all that, I’ll try to stick to my niche as much as I can before going off the deep end once the Ero-Kawaii-tier Awards start flying around.
We’ll have a more official farewell to the Summer season later today, but we say good bye to a few other favorites in the Late edition… well, for now as Durararararara is scheduled to return for the winter and Working!!! has promised a special hour long grand finale.
Love is over as we bid farewell to Snow White and My Love Story!, or at least until next week’s episode of Working!!! We sure did have a lot of romance in this edition of The Roundup over the past few weeks, we may need to resuscitate Marlin.
Kind of ironic that in the week that My Love Story! takes an episode off the rest of the Roundup delivers in the romance department. Both Working!!! and Snow White have us squeeing like fan girls as actual progress is made in key relationships. How revolutionary. Oh and Gatchaman Crowds Insight? Still awesome.
Don’t believe Takeo’s shirt: My Love Story!! did not do a good job this week, nor did Working!!! which barely redeems itself in its last few minutes, or Durarara!! which didn’t even bother airing an episode. Fortunately Gatchaman Crowds Insight ups the intensity and Snow White finally makes a move.
Bad news: Summer is over. Worse news: Summer season is not yet over. As you might have been able to tell from the dearth of content, the current anime load-out hasn’t really managed to swipe us off our feet. A more satisfactory review awaits you in a few weeks, but now that we’re halfway through the season already, the members of our merry crew have had more than enough time to pick their favourite anime song of the season. That is, if they even watched anything at all this season.
Gatchaman Crowds Insight makes its triumphant return after last week’s hiatus, Working!!! is still pretty great this season, and not much else. At least My Love Story! has given me and Marlin reason to keep the S.S. Team Saijou afloat… for now.
An abbreviated Late Edition this week as Gatchaman Crowds Insight takes an episode off. That makes me very sad. Meanwhile, Durarara reminds us to hate Izaya, Working tries to do a little too much for one episode, Snow White has too many flashbacks, and My Love Story might be sinking my favorite ship. At least Insight will be back next week?
Another day at the office for the Late Edition as Durarara!! keeps busy, Working!!! continues its streak of loose end tying, and Insight gives me the opportunity to get off as many “Deez Nuts” jokes as possible.
Gangsta returns to the Roundup with mixed results, Working!!! continues to make stunning amounts of plot progress, and My Love Story! devotes an episode to the rarest of anime rarities: parents that aren’t horrible people, living abroad, or dead.
The smell of animated beef patties, the hum of cicadas and the breeze from the giant monster battle occurring off-screen. That’s right, it’s the half time show! The Glorio Rabble have put their heads together to let you know what’s worth your valuable time, in a world where first episodes are high budget and mid-season turns filler if left out in…
Me, Iro, Euri, and Marlin frantically flail about as we try to fill in for Artemis while she’s away. Fortunately it’s a good week as old favorites Durarara!! and Working!!! are on their game, Snow White and My Love Story continue to be adorable, and Crowds drops the mic with some hot social commentary. Good times!
Love prevails as many of this week’s episodes feature romance to one degree or another. Whether you prefer the dysfunctional, roundabout relationships of Durarara!! and Working!!! or the more easy going vibe of Snow White and My Love Story!, there’s something for everyone. Also, Gatchaman Crowds Insight is still really good.
HEY GUYS AND GALS – Gatchaman Crowds Insight is really good, but also a solid week overall for the Late Edition. Every episode is at least decent, if not great, and perhaps most importantly My Love Story! returns to having the best header images.
We launch the Late Edition of the Roundup with Working!!!, Gatchaman Crowds: Insight, Gangsta, Snow White with the Red Hair, Non Non Biyori Repeat, and the return of Durarara!! X2 and My Love Story.
A new threat appears called VAPE, an organization that uses red Crowds to commit acts of terrorism. Not to be outdone, the G-Crew picks up some reinforcements and welcomes a new alien visitor.
Part 3 of our Summer 2015 Anime Guide is basically a formality for me to talk about my most anticipated show of the season, Gatchaman Crowds Inisght. Hopefully the surreal, colorful look at life in the Social Media Age will be the sequel we never knew we needed. As for the rest of it, well, despite what Gee tells me about Prison School I can’t say we saved the best for last. But, who knows? Maybe Bikini Warriors and Pillow Boys will turn out to be new anime classics! Take a look and let us know what you think looks watchable.
