We discuss the latest big changes at Crunchyroll, then vent our disappointment with the shows ending this season. Unfortunately yes, that includes Ranking of Kings.
We hit a wide variety of topics including the Lucifer and The Biscuit Hammer anime announcement, the latest in Saturday morning kids’ shows, and some backlog we’re finally catching up on. Oh, and I guess some currently airing anime too.
We made it to 100 episodes!
We bid farewell to The Heike Story, welcome back Eighty-Six: 86, and go in hard on the latest developments in Sakugan.
We have finally caught up and settled in with the Fall 2021 season.
We say goodbye to Fena: Pirate Princess, catch up on a few leftovers from last season, then settle in with the Fall season shows we’ll (probably) be sticking with.
Scotland Loves Animation is a yearly festival that runs in Glasgow and Edinburgh, bringing a curated selection of premieres and classic movies to the big screen for a week in October. Three of us from the GLORIO crew were there this month for the latest instalment, where we watched fifteen different films in the charmingly cosy Edinburgh Filmhouse cinema.
After a great Spring season and not so great Summer season, it seems balance has been restored to the anime world. The crew gives their first impressions of the good and bad (but mostly good?) new shows of the Fall 2021 season.
It’s strange times in the anime world as we try to do first looks, final thoughts, and Fall 2021 season previews in one single episode.
To fill in a gaping hole in his credibility as an anime lover, Aqua takes a look at the films that cemented the legacy of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takehata’s legendary Studio Ghibli.
This week, he checks out Miyazaki’s humble beginnings chronicling a legendary gentleman thief’s career switch into dashing heroics.
We cap off a Very GLORIO 2018 by discussing our top 10 anime of the year, as well as a few honorable mentions that just missed the cut.
Another GLORIO year comes to a close and we recommend ringing in 2019 in the best way possible – no, not by partying with friends and family, I mean talking about anime!
If you go about doing a season preview, it is only obvious you also close off on a season review. In The Wrap-Up, all of our contributors get to shine a spotlight on the show they thought to be the very best of the past few weeks, as well as reflect back on the preview to see which shows let us down the most. When you watch currently airing anime or tokusatsu, eventually the question will rise which of these shows can rank amongst the medium’s true classics. Regardless of who covered what, this is where we single out the cream of the crop, and decide which shows from the past season deserve to stand the test of time.
Jel, Gee, Marlin, and Zigg rave about Lupin III Part 5 and Asobi Asobase while putting big asterisks on everything else. Also: bonus Kamen Rider talk.
With all of our other podcast regulars busy this week. the remnants of Team GLORIO USA aka Jel, Gee, and Marlin hold down the fort and catch up on the Summer 2018 anime season.
Jel, Iro, Gee, and Aqua go way overtime as we reluctantly say BYE BYE to the very solid Spring 2018 anime season.
Team GLORIO USA hands out mid-term grades to all the shows we’re watching, determining if each show is better, worse, or the same since the last time we discussed them. Also, we pay tribute to the classic Pokémon character Nurse Jenny.
This episode is dedicated in loving memory to the Golden Kamuy anime.
Lupin and friends stole from the wrong evil tech conglomerate, and now their faces are all over the Internet! But even the power of social media is no match for the master thief, Lupin III!
The Spring 2018 anime season is rapidly approaching, so we do the responsible thing and talk about some of the notable shows worth keeping an eye on. Join us as Iro displays his mastery of segues, Gee sells us on Golden Kamuy, and Zigg reveals he loves punching dogs.
