Summer 2012 First Impressions: One Of Them Is My Younger Sister!

Novel Adaptation by Studio Gokumi

Premise
A powerful and wealthy man passes away, leaving his teenage son his fortune under one condition: he must find a wife before he graduates high school. To make matters more complicated, his long lost sister whom he has never seen goes to the same school and is trying to get in his pants.

Jel’s Thoughts
While earlier GLORIO guide travesties Kingdom and Uta Koi felt to me like bad adaptations of potentially interesting material, this is just bad all around. At best I was hoping it could at least be So Bad It’s Good but it commits the ultimate sin: it’s BORING. The premise is just as terrible as it sounds and yet they can’t even throw us a single WTF moment of shock value to make sure we still have a pulse. When you add sloppy animation, directing and loads of “Light Novel” syndrome dialogue you’re left with an episode that has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Verdict? Vapid
I would be less angry at this show if it had at least tried to offend me. Instead it does absolutely nothing and has no reason to exist. I’m just going to pretend this never happened.

Lifesong’s Thoughts
Creepy stalker sister wants to get into her brothers pants and is after his wallet? Yup, that’s what I got out this. The writting is so unpleasntly pervy that if I didn’t know better I would expect this to to turn into a full on hentai at any moment.

Verdict? The Cake Is A Lie!
And so are the cream puffs, if suddenly the girls he flirts with start dropping like flies I might give this another look but, I don’t see that happening, I’m out.

Irothtin’s Thoughts
Guy has to get married, but there is the possibility that his children will end up with horrifying birth defects, because someone in his harem is his sister.

Verdict? Don’t Waste Your Time
Typical harem. Move along.

  1. “At best I was hoping it could at least be So Bad It’s Good–”

Sorry Jel, but that’s exactly how I found it. If you thought it couldn’t get worse (or for me, more hilarious), then definitely skip episode 2.

  2. This anime really lacks any spark and “it does absolutely nothing and has no reason to exist”
“they can’t even throw us a single WTF moment of shock value to make sure we still have a pulse” – to me it actually looks that they aren’t even trying. All they did was through every possible cliched situations at us, thinking they might grab some fans with girls being ridiculous in the bathroom by themselves having perverted thughts about a guy they just met.
“there is the possibility that his children will end up with horrifying birth defects, because someone in his harem is his sister” – and he will not try to find another girl with no connections to him but instead will try his chances in his harem hoping that his future wife won’t be his sister.
But I’ll still watch this anime anyway. Maybe it gets better? At least there’s Sakurai Takahiro there haha
