Lagrange Season 2 Episode 3

Recap: Now that the gang is back together will they be able to figure out a way to stop the fighting between De Metrio and Le Garite?

ItsaTimmy’s Thoughts: We open to a worthless mortal getting his ass kicked by Madoka’s mad athletic skills so yup, it looks like there is going to be some screwing around this episode. We find the other girls chilling in the beach cafe and the guys who run it next door trying to get a haunted house going. Too bad everyone is watching Madoka on the beach instead. Soon Madoka returns and the trio enjoy some delicious snow cones of deliciousness. Man, this episode is exciting!

Fortunately the plot does quickly pick back up after Lan and Mugi question if they can really stop the fighting that has the potental to tear them apart and Madoka reaffirming that she will do anything she can to keep that from happening. Shortly thereafter they find themselves being debriefed by Asteria. The two sides are meeting in a week and she wants to demonstrate that the Vox shouldn’t be used as weapon and should be used for good. Of course they need proof which spells out lots of testing for Madoka, testing that she eagerly agrees to since the results will no doubt benefit her buddies.

Of course the tests go less then smooth. The need to somehow crack into Madoka’s brain but everything they try to do it fails. It seems that she is emotionally stable enough that she is subconsciously blocking all of their attempts. Or at least that is until Asteria gets creative and decides to embarrass the virgin Madoka with some sexy talk. Hoo boy. I can’t decide if this was borderline creepy or not but it was pretty damn hilarious. It is probably for the best that we are left out of the conversation though as whatever Asteria says drives Madoka nuts, to the point where things start to go haywire when she loses control of herself and ends up putting on another crazy ass display in the sky over Kamogawa. She doesn’t snap out of it until Yurikano, who she saw in a vision at the end of last season, shows back up and strangles some sense back into her to make her stop. This same girl is then promptly shown on Le Garite’s main ship but she doesn’t behave like the Yurikano we knew at all leaving us to wonder who she is and how she is getting into Madoka’s head.

I was a little worried in the beginning that things would slow way down this episode but the plot snuck back in and kept things moving nicely along. Another good episode this week and I look forward to hopefully having some questions answered next week.
