Recap: The woman who summoned Kon to Mira has been tailing the Princess’ group and sends her pet to join them. Kon is very much opposed to taking him along, but that seems to be a battle he just he can’t win.

Jel’s Thoughts: Objectively speaking, this was a pretty bad episode. This should have been handled as the B plot to another story but instead the joke about Kon hating this cute little animal gets dragged out waaaaay too long.

Still, there’s just some kind of charm to Ixion that’s hard to describe unless you’re watching it. You can see most of the jokes coming from miles away and yet for some reason I still laughed at them. Is it because the show knows how bad it is? They show us that’s at least a little bit true, like when they humorously call themselves out for Sainglain’s lack of personality as an example. And there are still some genuinely funny moments, like Mariandale’s voice actually getting DEEPER when he sees something cute. But something still doesn’t quite add up when I compare the quality of the show to how much I’m enjoying it.

Ah well, probably best not to over analyze things and just enjoy it. My opinion might change if we keep getting episodes like this, but I have a good feeling that won’t be the case. Next week’s episode preview hints at ED returning home and dealing with the aftermath of his… loss. Plenty of potential for comedy gold there, so I’m looking forward to it.
