Recap: ED returns home to recover from his injuries, but can’t bring himself to share the details with his fiancé. Adding to their troubles are some visiting distant relatives with suspicious motives.

Jel’s Thoughts: Talk about taking the ball and running with it, pun intended, Ixion will just not let this joke die. And yet somehow, it still works. This entire episode progressed from hilarious to awkward to outright sad to triumphant all on the basis of one kick to the nads.

At this point I don’t even remember what terrible thing ED did to deserve getting his life ruined, and I felt genuinely bad when Emilia was asking him about having children. I will give Brains Base the benefit of the doubt and assume there is some reason they want us to feel sympathetic towards the bad guy (i.e. he will help/join the party at some point) because I was pretty much rooting for him at the end. Or maybe it was all just one long sick joke to show us the other side of the coin when an enemy is defeated? I JUST DON’T KNOW. Ixion continues to not let on exactly when they’re joking and when you’re supposed to take them seriously, perhaps more so in this episode than any of the previous ones. So long as it stays incredibly amusing like this week, I am still OK with that.

Next week’s preview appears to be the Hot Springs/Beach/Pool episode focused on Mariandale. Transgender issues in my wacky fantasy parody comedy? Sure, why not?
