Recap: As the party debates the best method of travel for the last leg of their journey, Kon finally confirms his suspicions about Pet.

Jel’s Thoughts: Despite knowing something was up with Pet and everyone turning out about the way you’d expect in the end, this episode was just plain weird. It starts with Pet’s grown adult man voice, which is pretty hilarious. But by the time we got to him telling a story involving Kon in a dress and him in a frog suit possibly about to rape him, immediately after claiming to be his father… yeah, I had no idea what was going on. Pet kind of reminded me of Momo from Binbougmami ga! with the whole super creepy “Cute Pet Masochist” thing and I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.

It was all in good fun though, and ultimately Ixion brings us back to where we were – marching to the capital, making balls jokes. I was kind of hoping ED overhearing Kon threatening to cut off Pet’s balls would be the final trigger to put him back on the trail, especially after his men failed to pick up on the fact that Kon is still alive. It would have made the whole episode one elaborate way to reach a very simple conclusion, I joke I always find funny.

Still, I feel we’ve seen the last of ED in the antagonist role, and as we seem to reach the Capital in next week’s episode we’ll probably meet the real enemy. One look at Lord Nabokov tells me there’s no way that guy is not evil. As the always self aware preview messages point out, he hasn’t been in the OP this whole time for nothing. As the journey part of the story comes to an end, I’m looking forward to the change of setting and some new blood. It worked great with Miranda last week (I hope she follows them there), so hopefully they can work their magic again.
