Recap: Sonora is injured while protecting Yura from a mysterious assailant. As a result, she’ll be unable to attend the 24-hour tournament. Yura vows to make up for her absence.

Gee’s Thoughts: This episode was basically just set up, but it’s obvious that shit is about to go down in C3. Well, at least I hope so anyways. While Yura dropping the ball in the first 5 minutes of the episode was a little annoying, anyone who thought Sonora was going to make it through this show without being “killed” in some manner was deluding themselves. It’s a perfect situation to allow Yura to come into her own as an airsoft player.

With the amount of planning and training (shown through a convenient montage of sketchy still shots absent of animation) going down this episode, I look forward to seeing how Yura acts as a leader when up til now, she’s always been a follower. I have a feeling things are either going to be as awesome as Yura’s time travel antics or as disappointing as some of the show’s low moments.

Overall, while C3 doesn’t impress me every week, it’s been doing a decent job of living up to my admittedly low expectations. Here’s hoping we get to see some more airsoft action as the C3 club takes on the various gimmicky teams with gimmicky themes at the 24-hour tournament.
