Re: Tiger & Bunny, maybe it’s because I tend to have a soft spot for the loud hot-blooded ones, but I don’t mind Mr Black. Annoying, sure, but he’s at least kind of relatable. He Is Thomas though, let’s just say he was kind of a non-entity for a while, but after getting to his backstory and later arc… let’s just say it gave me a whole lot of new appreciation for Black, and even Cat. Also, without any spoilers, even at the early episodes I found the twin villains terribly annoying with some really baffling writing/directing choices (also, the seiyuu, WHY), and later on, oh boy. I guess I understand what they’re going for with them, but it’s like they wandered in from a completely different show.
(Re: DDD, I guess you’ll just see what the story does if you stick with the show. I’m just trying to dissuade people from forming opinons about the show’s trajectory based on impressions like “this is a sports anime and it will go this and that way” because so many people dismiss it at that point, or form expectations that the show is not going to fulfill, not being a sports story and whatnot.)
For DDD, I do plan on continuing to watch, and I actually don’t want it to be a traditional sports anime story. I’ll be happy if it doesn’t go that way. I am just noticing a few similarities to that type of story so far.
