The Roundup: Summer 2017 Volume 1

With first episodes spanning over three weeks, we’re a bit late firing up the Roundup this season. But hey, we’re here now to talk about Welcome to the Ballroom, Restaurant to Another World, Fastest Finger First, and Kakegurui, plus catchup with Sakura Quest and Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul. Masahiro Setagawa is the neighborhood delinquent errand-boy until he bumps into Kousuke Oshiba, the older brother of his best friend, whose fighting abilities have earned him the nickname Bear Killer. Fast forward a year or so and Setagawa is entering high school, with the days of playing lapdog for his delinquent ‘buddies’ behind him thanks to Oshiba’s influence. However, the delinquents have not quite forgotten Setagawa, and as fate would have it, Oshiba has just been assigned to Setagawa’s school as a math teacher.

Kyou is a shut in who can barely speak above a whisper, but he’s so passionate about song writing that he posts his music online. A fan asks to meet him for a collaboration and to his surprise it turns out to be an elementary school girl. The girl and her two friends ask for Kyou’s help to set up a concert for their ophanage.

In an alternate world, turn-of-the-century London is separated by a massive wall, designating which side belongs to the Kingdom, and which to the Commonwealth. A bunch of cute girls attend a boarding school in the Kingdom as a cover for their lives as spies for the Commonwealth.

First Look: Welcome to the Ballroom

Fujita Tatara is an ordinary middle school student struggling to find purpose in life. After being saved from bullies by the pro dancer Kaname Sengoku, he begins to take an interest in ballroom dancing. Inspired by fellow classmate, Hanaoka Shizuku, Tatara decides to devote himself to dancesport.

A bunch of high school students have too much time on their hands. They regularly stop by Not Lawson on their way home from school, where they literally bump into each other and act super awkward. Apparently they also fall in love and stuff.

Tomoki Sakai is a middle school boy obsessed with diving and with his senior Yoichi, who got him into the sport. Now though his club is in danger of being shut down, and the members are going to have to rally together to save it.
