Final Thoughts: Yatterman Night

Perhaps one of the biggest breakout stars of the Winter 2015 season, Yatterman Night was a heartfelt romp rife with adventure, unyielding optimism, and bleak dystopia in equal measure. Join Gee, Iro, and Marlin as we talk about what might very well be the best of the 21st century Tatsunoko adaptations.

Final Thoughts: Death Parade

EVERYBODY! PUT YOUR HANDS UP! The games have ended and it’s time to pass judgement on Death Parade. The follow up to 2013’s one shot Death Billiards is full of emotional highs and lows, but do the moods swing too much for its own good? Join Jel, Artemis, and Aquagaze as they share their final thoughts on the series.

Final Thoughts: Shirobako

After countless schedule slips, crushed dreams and mental breakdowns, Aoi and her colleagues at Musashino Animation have finally wrapped up production on their adaptation of The Third Aerial Girls Squad. Join Aqua, Gee and Marlin as we go don-don-donuts and look back on Shirobako, a one-of-a-kind phenomenon no self-respecting anime fan should miss.

Final Thoughts: Garo – The Carved Seal of Flames

The beloved tokusatsu franchise took a side trip to a sword-and-sorcery-inspired Middle Ages for its animated début. Turned out 15th century Spain had just as many black-leather wearing brooding bad boys and salacious succubi as present-day Tokyo! With some help from Rage of Bahamut and Terror in Resonance animation wizards MAPPA and Kamen Rider alumnus Yasuko Kobayashi, however, The Carved Seal of Flames became a lot more than the sum of its parts. Bloody brothers Aqua and Gee bring the final verdict on this metal opera brought to life.

All Your Monies: March 30th 2015

Hello, and welcome to All Your Monies, where The Glorio Blog’s resident toy and figure collecting crew (and Marlin) will run down the last week’s new pre-orders, turning a loving or scathing eye over what’s been put out for you to spend your hard earned cash on. This week, there are cars, pigs, cats and ships, but none can outshine the glory of dead bodies.

My Little Monster Volume 6

After the ski party, Sasayan and Natsume start to fight. Lack of maturity on both sides prevents the two from patching things up. Later, it turns out that Shizuku’s birthday is Valentine’s Day. This gives a pretty adorable excuse for all the girls to get together and make chocolate, while also letting Haru do something for Shizuku.

G-Reco Episode 26 and Final Thoughts

Arriving back on Earth, Bellri and the Megafauna find themselves caught between the Amerian and Capital Army. Between the various factions and the G-IT Corps in hot pursuit, it seems global war is inevitable. Determined to bring an end to the fighting once and for all, Bellri sets out one last time to prove he can bring peace to the world. Gee, Iro, and Marlin share their thoughts about Tomino’s heartfelt, but ultimately bizarre and incomprehensible entry in the storied franchise.

My Little Monster Volume 5

Finally sick of waiting for a second season, Marlin has decided to catch up on the manga as it’s being released in America. Starting with where the anime ends, Volume 5 picks up on the drama caused by Natsume’s confession, as well as more insight into Haru’s checkered past. Keep an eye out for volumes 6 and 7 later this month!

Lost and Found Volume 4: Anime Arts and Crafts

Welcome to the Lost and Found, our convoluted question and answer segment where we tackle the most pressing issues from our recent search terms. Whether it’s a perfectly innocent inquiry about your favorite anime or a search that makes us question the depths of human depravity, we are here for you. In this edition, Jel curates the finest in anime music, art, and poetry for the most mature and dignified experience the Glorio Blog has ever seen.

The Roundup: Winter 2015 Volume 10
