All Your Monies: November 10th 2014

Hello, and welcome to All Your Monies, where The Glorio Blog’s resident toy and figure collecting crew (and Marlin) will run down the last week’s new pre-orders, turning a loving or scathing eye over what’s been put out for you to spend your hard earned cash on. This week we have some figures of a few classic character types including magical girls, cat girls, and… mountain climbing girls?

Your Lie In April Episode 4 & 5

Kousei finally gets to the competition with Kaori. After his trauma gets to him, Kaori tries to give him another push to get over it by sticking with him. Afterwards she collapses, bringing everyone to worry about her condition. It would appear she is fine, but the event sparks guilt in Kousei. Coupled with how he deals with his crush on her, he finds it hard to talk to her face to face. After she waits to confront him, he is sparked towards action. Will he really be able to put his problems behind him?

Parasyte – The Maxim Episode 5

Shinichi continues to search for distinctions between himself and the unfeeling Parasytes. By trying to intervene on behalf of his friend versus some bullies, he finds cause for his humanity, as well as interest from a new girl named Kana, who may be able to sense Parasytes. Away from home, tragedy strikes his family, and Shinichi must confront the worst case scenario.

The Roundup: Fall 2014 Volume 4

Most of the Glorio crew returns this week but unfortunately it’s to a mediocre batch of episodes. Marlin and I struggle to stick with SeHa Girls among other shows, but at least Aqua and Gee have Shirobako’s interesting topic of 2D vs. 3D animation to save this week from being a total wash.

Amagi Brilliant Park Episode 5

Out of money and potentially unable to make payroll, Kanye is desperate. He takes the team to investigate rumors of a hidden treasure in the park’s abandoned southern facility, which hides a dangerous underground labyrinth.

Gundam G-Reco Episode 6

The pirates have successfully made it into space. However, the Capital Army is hot on their heels, sending Dellensen again, this time in his own Elf Bull. Bellri, determined to pay his debt to Aida, takes off again against the Elf Bull, unaware that his teacher is the one in the pilot’s seat.

All Your Monies: November 3rd 2014

Hello, and welcome to All Your Monies, where The Glorio Blog’s resident toy and figure collecting crew (and Aquagaze) will run down the last week’s new pre-orders, turning a loving or scathing eye over what’s been put out for you to spend your hard earned cash on. This week Jel fills in with a surprisingly high dudes to cute girls ratio and totally is not trying to goad on Nisekoi fans.

Gundam Build Fighters Try Episode 4

Unfortunately, Fumina decides she needs to replace her GM Powered Cardigan, and decides to make a trip to G-Muse, a Gundam museum/park/gunpla store. Needing to understand gunpla and Gundam itself in more depth, Sekai comes along as well to witness the wonderful world of gunpla.

Parasyte – The Maxim Episode 4

Shinichi and Migi square off against Mr. A in a fight for survival. With Reiko Tamura successfully getting pregnant despite being a horrifying flesh-eating monster, Shinichi is forced to confront his own changing humanity. And in the end, what it all says about human nature.

The Roundup: Fall 2014 Volume 3

An abbreviated Roundup this week as some of the Glorio Crew is on the run. Iro narrowly avoids disappointment with Log Horizon, Gee hangs out with Shirobako, Aqua is appalled again by Psycho-Pass, and I’m mildly amused by SeHa Girls return to watchability.

Amagi Brilliant Park Episode 4

Fifty’s management style (i.e. point gun in face) has worn thin on the staff and tension grows high as Kanye continues to delegate tasks to her. A potentially disastrous flood at the park provides the perfect opportunity for her to prove her value to the team.

Gundam G-Reco Episode 5

The Capital Army reveals its new mobile suit, the transforming Elf Bull. Piloted by the mysterious Mask that is totally not Luin, they once again attempt to rescue Bellri and take the fight to the pirates. And once again, Bellri decides for some reason that he’s gonna fight with the pirates despite having been ostensibly kidnapped by them. I think it’s because he feels guilty about killing Cahill? I honestly can’t even tell at this point.

All Your Monies: October 27th 2014

Hello, and welcome to All Your Monies, where The Glorio Blog’s resident toy and figure collecting crew (and Aquagaze) will run down the last week’s new pre-orders, turning a loving or scathing eye over what’s been put out for you to spend your hard earned cash on. This week someone left the door open allowing Timmy to sneak in, and you know what that means: Tony Taka and swimsuit figures for everyone!

Your Lie In April Episode 3

At a pitstop on the way home, Kaori reveals she’s heard a lot about Kousei from his years as the Child Genius. Kousei is goaded into playing the piano for some adorable twerps until his trauma forces him to stop. He reveals to Kaori that he believes he can’t hear the music if he plays for long enough. After accepting that this is kinda ridiculous, Kaori goes on a vendetta to make him her accompanist for the next round of the competition.

Gundam Build Fighters Try Episode 3

With Team Try Fighters officially formed, it’s time for them to get some real practice against other teams. This comes in the form of Kaoruko Sazaki, little sister of Susumu Sazaki and inheritor of the will of the Gyan. Against an experienced fighter, both Sekai and Yuuma are going to need to work out their teamwork kinks.
