Recap: One nutty transformation scene later, Rebecca finds herself to be the new hero of the squirrel kingdom. But will she be able to match Cinque and Nanami?
ItsaTimmy’s Thoughts:
And here I was beginning to think Becky would have to actually work at this hero thing for a bit until she got good at it. Nope. Seems all that gaming time has paid off as some how it can all be applied to flying a mechanical, magical broom. In true Dog Days fashion she ends up tearing across Flonyard leaving destruction and nudity in her wake.
The first to fall to the magical powerhouse is Rico’s artillery regiment who, thanks to Couver hopping on and taking gunner position, prove to be not much of a threat at all. Naturally Couver can’t resist firing an extra clothes shredding beam at Rico to hammer a final nail in the coffin. The pair then decide to split up with Couver taking on Leo and failing miserably while Becky blasts the ever living clothes off of Cinque and Nanami. Only does her rampage come to an end when she tries to take on Millhiore who forces her into retreat after some mutual armor damage. This clothing damage joke has been played to death this season but with things looking to slow down hopefully it gets a rest for a little while.
The war soon ends and tallying the points finds Galette the victor and Couver crying in a corner. Of course it probably didn’t help that Pastillage joined the fray halfway through. After the newcomers get a tour of Biscotti, Another frisbee session, and a meeting between the three princesses where Couver once again expresses her infatuation with Becky to the point where I start to wonder if she is joking or not, we find ourselves alone with Cinque and Rebecca. Unfortunately their conversation seems intent on hammering out the fact that neither of them sees the other as anything more then good friends and it never dawns on them that the should consider dating each other as they talk about their future courtships hopefully not getting in the way of their friendship. This is really quite disappointing and seems contrary to the first season where a possible crush is implied on her part when she misses him. I have to wonder if Seven Arcs is doing this for shallow harem related reasons or if they have bigger romantic plans for these two in the works. I guess only time will tell.
Lastly I would like to point out that for a show that seems to love getting plenty of face time for all its characters the fact that we still know little about Knights of Pastillage is also a bit disappointing. The only time we see Liscia is to establish that she leads the Flying Knights every time they are blasted out of the sky. Does she enjoy being blasted out of the sky? I would like to know. Also Crunchyroll has decided to use the more literal Sink for Cinque’s name. Not sure why they did that but I’ll be sticking with Cinque since I really don’t feel like attributing another lavatorial device to a British person. (Mad props if you get the reference.)

Good review! This episode was most enjoyable, and the fact Becky seems more Jealous in that scene looking like she’s getting ready to force Cinque into something naughty after going on about how “Friendly” he is with everyone.
Rico seems to get cuter with each episode this season as well, a little girl with an Artillery unit AND Weaponry against Rebecca / Couver. So far seems that Dog Days is my winner in terms of enjoyability this Season with what I’m following.
